Our Legacy

Originally named "Pastelaria Marreiros", this building used to be a home many years ago. During the 80´s, a local entrepreneur realised there was a demand for light food and drink in the area, which was mainly frequented by backpackers in the now long-gone nearby youth hostel.

So, the Snack-Bar was created. The travellers flocked to the place and congregated in the area, the public water spout and fountain being a favourite spot for their guitars and laughter.

In the mid 2010´s, the Snack-Bar became ours and we improved it from its original function. It now has merged with the building next door and increased the inside and outside area, but retained the traditional Portuguese tiles and keeps the atmosphere as close to the original as possible. Now we are a coffee shop, restaurant, and snack-bar.

Nowadays there is much more choice of food and drink, and it has become a spot for the locals to have their late afternoon refreshments and snacks. Nevertheless, all are welcome to join one of the best known outside terraces in Sagres for a coffee, a snack or a beer.
